Hello, DECA Members!

 The month of January flew by with 5 District competitions! DECA members showed their skills and earned their spot at the State Career Development Conference in March. On January 31, 2012, I attended the District 2 competition at the Holiday Inn in Mansfield, the last District competition of the 2012 DECA year. The day was filled with fun and a very successful Miracle Minute for MDA.

 This month, our membership increased by 200 students, alumni and professional members! The honor of biggest chapter goes to Algonquin High school with an outstanding 253 members. Highest increase, however, is Bartlett  High School with 214%.  MASS DECA had 24 chapters reach the “Summit” level including:

January Member of the Month

Evan MilhoEvan Milho, a senior from Taunton High School, is being recognized as the January DECA member of the month! Evan is being recognized for his first place finish in Restaurant and Food Services Management at his district competition. In his spare time, Evan plays soccer and basketball, and is also the Vice President of his local Taunton Mayors Youth Commission, and a member of his school’s student council. Recently, he increased his chapter’s membership from 7 to 102 in one year! Evan showed great enthusiasm and passion at the MDA Muscle Walk on February 12, 2012. Keep up the good work, Evan!
