Devasri Damodaran

Hello Mass DECA! My name is Devasri Damodaran, and I am honored to be serving as a member of Team 65 in the upcoming year. This will be my third year in DECA, and I am so excited to begin working with all of our incredible members and advisors.

I first found my passion for business when I was 13 years old and started an Etsy store selling handmade jewelry. I continued to successfully start my own nail art business and a non profit tutoring organization. I learned a great deal about marketing, finance, and customer service through my entrepreneurial endeavors.

I was quick to develop a passion for marketing. I found that understanding your target market and creating messages that resonate with them was the key to success for any business. I hope to use my skills in marketing and graphic design to further expand Massachusetts DECA.

It was my sophomore year at Westborough High School when my business teacher approached me in my management class and invited me to join DECA. I was intrigued to say the least. I had no idea what incredible opportunities awaited me. In my first year, I placed third in marketing management district-wide. The following year, I placed second in marketing communications district-wide, placed in the top ten at states, and executed a successful state office campaign. As an executive team member, I was responsible for planning and executing marketing campaigns that helped to triple our membership. I am so grateful for the opportunities DECA has given me. I have learned so much about marketing and business, and I have made lifelong friends.

I am excited to continue my journey with DECA, but now as a member of our State Action team. I will work tirelessly for this organization and do whatever it takes to help Mass DECA reach new heights. Feel free to reach out to me on Instagram @deca_devasri if you have any ideas or just want someone to talk to!
