Matt Bruce

Hello Mass DECA! My name is Matt Bruce and I’m beyond excited to serve on your State Action Team 65. This will be my third year in DECA, and I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to make this year our best one yet!

I learned about and joined DECA as a freshman, oblivious to the wonderful world of DECA and all that it entailed. After my first state conference in Boston, I was completely enthralled and couldn’t stop talking about it to all my friends outside of the club. Since my freshman year, I have helped my chapter grow over 500% of its former size. From my experience, the biggest objection people had to joining the organization was being overwhelmed and confused by the sheer range of possibilities of DECA. For this very reason, I nearly didn’t join as a freshman. I decided to run for state officer to help resolve this issue, and to help all Massachusetts DECA members learn about and navigate all the opportunities this fantastic organization has to offer.

Outside of DECA, I can usually be found outside on some sort of field or court. I am a 3 season athlete at Wachusett High School, playing soccer and running two seasons of track. In track, I run the 800, Mile, Pole Vault, and Decathlon. In my free time, I love mountain biking, lifting, and skiing, and recently started a local pickleball facility with my dad in Holden. Ever since I was a mere toddler, I’ve been obsessed with geography and learning about new places, which has inspired my lifelong goal to explore and travel the world.

Thank you so much for electing me onto team 65! DECA has been incredibly influential in helping improve my skills as a team player, a public speaker and a leader, and I hope it can do the same for you.
