Courtney Zecha

Hello, Mass DECA! My name is Courtney Zecha and I cannot wait to be a part of the 2010-2011 State Action Team. I feel privileged to serve as a state officer and I cannot wait to have a great year with all of Massachusetts DECA! I began my involvement in DECA two years ago at the start of my sophomore year, and since then I have not been able to imagine my life without DECA. I’ve served as the Head of Marketing in my Danvers Chapter, and will be President of my chapter this upcoming year.

Over my past two years in DECA, I have competed in the Business Law and Ethics Team Decision Event. I have also competed at SCDC both years, while campaigning to be a part of the upcoming State Action Team this past year. Campaigning was a great experience that allowed me to meet many new people. Aside from DECA, I am a part of the swim team, World Language National Honor Society, and National Honor Society at my school.

Outside of school, I love hanging out with friends, listening to music, and watching movies. I have made so many friends at my school because of DECA, and DECA has enabled me to venture out and make new friends from across the state. I cannot wait to work with a great Action Team this year, as well as meet so many Mass DECA members throughout the year!

DECA Creed

I believe in the future that I am planning
for myself in the field of marketing
and management, and in the opportunities
which my vocation offers.
I believe in fulfilling the highest measure of service to my vocation, my fellow beings,
my country and my God-
that by so doing,
I will be rewarded with personal satisfaction
and material wealth.
I believe in the democratic philosophies
of private enterprise and competition, and in the freedoms of this nation-that these
philosophies allow for the fullest development
of my individual abilities.
I believe that by doing my best to live
according to these high principles,
I will be of greater service both to myself
and to mankind.
