Sara lewis

Hello Massachusetts DECA, my name is Sara Lewis and I am a senior in the Engineering and Robotics program at Blackstone Valley Regional Vocational Technical High School. I am thrilled to be serving as a member of the Team 65 State Action Team.

Over the past three years, I've actively participated in DECA and proudly served as the president of Blackstone Valley Tech for an upcoming two years, constantly striving to push our chapter to reach its full potential.

Coming from a small chapter at a vocational school where DECA is just a club, participating and preparing for competition has been nothing short of a challenge. Though this did not stop BVT DECA from succeeding at districts, states and even ICDC. I am passionate about helping smaller chapters with limited resources find their way to succeed just like BVT DECA.

The concept of vocational education and its unique approach to learning greatly inspires me and I am passionate about bringing DECA to many more vocational schools across Massachusetts.

Aside from DECA, I actively engage in various extracurricular activities such as Model United Nations, Student Council, SkillsUSA, and LEO club. As for sports, I play soccer and run track and field for my high school.

Throughout my journey as a DECA participant, I've discovered my passion for both entrepreneurship and engineering. Exploring the interconnection of these two fields has been an incredibly fulfilling experience for me.

During my free time, I cherish moments spent with my friends and family. If I were to pick a favorite vacation spot, it would undoubtedly be Martha's Vineyard Island, nestled just off the Cape. Additionally, seafoam green is my favorite color.

I am incredibly excited for this year to come and I am forever grateful for this opportunity to serve as a member of Team 65’s State Action Team.
